We’ve all heard of FAANG, the group of tech giants that shape our world. However, BoardEx took a look at where FAANG employees go when they leave the well-heeled world of Facebook Inc. (FB), Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN), Apple Inc. (APPL), Netflix Inc. (NFLX) and Google, now officially under Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL).
Google produced the most CEOs of any FAANG company within the BoardEx universe, at 260, while Netflix produced the fewest of the group, at 18. Google also produced the most founders, 68, beating out Apple, which took second place in the founder-producing race, at 39.
Of the individuals’ careers analyzed, the most alums in our research came from Google parent Alphabet (1,054 people – 43.57%), followed by Apple (605 people – 25.01%) and Amazon (518 – 21.41%).
It’s noteworthy that the FAANG companies themselves have had very little CEO turnover. For instance, Facebook, Amazon and Netflix have each had only one CEO since each respective company’s founding.
